1. Information We Collect

Plant Collector is built to be private. Your plant collection — names, notes, and photos — is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We don't have access to it, and we don't sell or share it.

The one exception is the Identify a Plant feature. When you choose to identify a plant, the photo you select is sent to our identification service to determine what plant it is. Here's exactly what happens:

• Your photo is uploaded (resized smaller before sending) so the plant can be identified.
• The photo is processed and then deleted from our servers within 24 hours. To make repeat lookups faster, an identification result may be cached using a one-way fingerprint of the image for up to 30 days.
• Photos may be processed by a third-party plant-identification provider solely to return a result. They are not used for advertising or shared further.
• To prevent abuse, our service uses Apple's App Attest to confirm the request comes from a genuine device, and your subscription status is verified through Apple. This does not identify you personally.

We do not collect your location, contacts, email, or any personal account information. We don't track you across other apps or websites.

If you never use the Identify feature, no data ever leaves your device.
